History

Sean O’Neill founded O’Neill CPA & Business Advisors with the mission to help small businesses. Since opening their doors, they've facilitated the success of small businesses and nonprofits by providing holistic financial services including business strategy, accounting, and strategic tax planning. We bring an exceptional level of enthusiasm, dedication, and perspective that makes our firm the holistic solution for our clients.

We live in the Greater New Orleans area, but we serve clients across the nation. We utilize modern technology to work securely with our client wherever they are. Our virtual accounting services enable our clients to outsource their accounting services and eliminate the need for an in-house accounting department.

Sean P. O’Neill, CPA

Sean has been consulting on accounting, business, and tax matters since 2007. Sean specializes in business consulting, streamlining small business accounting departments, strategic tax planning, and financial consulting. Prior to starting O’Neill CPA & Business Advisors, he began his career with a regional CPA firm, advising high net worth families on their business strategy, accounting procedures, and tax strategies, as well as consulting with nonprofit organizations. Sean has consulted with individuals, businesses, and nonprofits throughout the United States, as well as Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Sean received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Masters of Science in Accounting from University of New Orleans. Sean is member of several professional organizations. He is active in the community having serving on the board of nonprofits and being actively involved in Sean Payton’s Play It Forward Foundation.

Director of nonprofit services

Bonnie M. Wyllie, J.D., LL.M.

Bonnie has over thirty years of experience in tax. Before joining O’Neill CPA & Business Advisors, she provided charitable planning for Lukinovich Law Firm. Prior to joining Lukinovich, she worked as a Director with the regional firm, Laporte CPAs & Business Advisors and KPMG. She has extensive experience in all aspects of nonprofit, individual, estate, trust, and tax compliance with a specialization of nonprofit tax consulting and compliance. Bonnie is a frequent lecturer and provides individualized training to nonprofit boards and executives.

Bonnie received her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Music from Loyola University, her Juris Doctor from Loyola University, and her LL.M. degree in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. She has been certified by BoardSource to be one of their governance trainers, and she earned the AICPA Nonprofit Certificate as well as a nonprofit management certificate. One of her articles, “The Redesigned Form 990, Advising Nonprofit Organizations,” has been published in the Journal of Accountancy. She was the recipient of the Order of St. Louis medallion in recognition of her service in the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

S. Cody Guttierrez, CPA

director of tax services

Prior to joining O’Neill CPAs & Business Advisors, Cody worked for nine years with a regional CPA firm. He has a great deal of experience handling tax and accounting for businesses, individuals, and nonprofit organizations. He has worked extensively in the construction and real estate industries. He has also handled the tax and accounting work of several high net worth families.

Cody completed his undergraduate and graduate work at Southeastern Louisiana University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and then a Masters of Business Administration with Accounting Concentration.
